The Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho (COMPASS) will host a transportation forum for state and local elected officials with U.S. Representatives Mike Simpson and Walt Minnick on Monday, August 31, 2009.

COMPASS requests public comment on its updated Public Involvement Policy. The COMPASS Public Involvement Policy, originally adopted by the COMPASS Board in 1994, provides general guidance for involving the public in the transportation planning process. The document is evaluated and updated, as appropriate, every three years. It was last updated in 2006 and is being updated again now. Your comments are requested on updates to the policy. Changes to the policy are clearly noted: new language is underlined and language to be removed is stricken out.

Meridian, ID – The Board of Directors of the Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho (COMPASS) voted to decrease membership dues by 10% for fiscal years 2009 and 2010 at its June 15, 2009, Board meeting.

This notice is to amend the FY2009-2013 Regional Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) with one additional project. On May 21, 2009, the Idaho Transportation Board selected projects for funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Stimulus). The funding source is specifically for enhancements to the transportation system, including landscaping, sidewalks, etc… One of the selected projects is in Ada County: I-84, Ten Mile Interchange Landscaping.
On February 23, 2009, Amendment #2 was approved which added several transit operating projects in the Boise Urbanized Area between FY2009 and FY2013. It was later determined operations of up to $1 million per year could be used in FY2008 and FY2009 only. An action is proposed to remove operations projects in the Boise area between FY2010 and FY2013. An offsetting entry must also be presented to show where the funds were previously programmed. The FY2009 funds will be added once the offset is determined.

The Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho (COMPASS) is beginning the process of updating Communities in Motion, the regional long-range transportation plan for southwest Idaho. The current plan was adopted by the COMPASS Board of Directors in August 2006; it must be updated and re-adopted every four years.
