Amendments to Communities in Motion 2040 2.0

 

Certain circumstances can lead to the need to formally amend a long-range transportation plan, such as Communities in Motion 2040 2.0. These circumstances include adding or removing projects funded through the plan, changes in federal requirements that need to be addressed before the next scheduled plan update, or changes in policies established in the plan.

AMENDMENT #5 (APRIL 2021)

 

Purpose: To add a project for Valley Regional Transit to enhance public transportation facilities and vehicles on the State Street Premium Corridor in the City of Boise.

 

 

 

  • The following portions of Communities in Motion 2040 2.0 have been updated to reflect this amendment:
    • List of funded projects (short-term funded)
    • List of unfunded needs (public transportation system)

AMENDMENT #4 (MARCH 2021)

 

Purpose: To widen the westbound Interstate 84 off-ramp at State Highway 44 (Exit 25), just west of the City of Caldwell, install traffic signal and improve sight distance.

 

 

 

  • The following portions of Communities in Motion 2040 2.0 have been updated to reflect this amendment:
    • List and map of funded projects (short-term funded and long-term funded)

AMENDMENT #3 (FEBRUARY 2021)

 

Purpose: Adds an Ada County Highway District (ACHD) and Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) joint project to begin preliminary design and an environmental study to replace the Five Mile Road overpass over Interstate 84 and widen the bridge from two lanes to four lanes, and widen Five Mile Road from two lanes to five lanes from Smoke Ranch Drive to Franklin Road in the City of Boise. Work includes curb, gutter, sidewalks, and enhanced bike lanes on both sides of the roadway.

 

 

 

  • The following portions of Communities in Motion 2040 2.0 have been updated to reflect this amendment:
    • List and map of funded projects (short-term funded and long-term funded)

AMENDMENT #2 (OCTOBER 2020)

 

Purpose: To mirror updates to Capital Improvement Programs for the Ada County Highway District, City of Caldwell, City of Nampa, and Nampa Highway District No. 1.

AMENDMENT #1 (JUNE 2020)

 

Purpose: To add a National Environmental Policy Act alternatives analysis to realign State Highway 45 (12th Avenue South) through the City of Nampa from Sheridan Avenue to 1st Street South, with connections to I-84 on Northside Boulevard.
