Air Quality Outreach Resources and Links
Air quality and transportation are closely linked. When COMPASS develops or updates the regional long-range transportation plan (Communities in Motion) or the regional Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), it is required to demonstrate that the transportation projects funded via these plans will not degrade air quality in the Treasure Valley. This is referred to as an “air quality conformity demonstration.”
In addition to this technical demonstration, COMPASS also works with local and state government agencies as they strive to educate their citizens about the impacts of poor air quality and what individuals can do to help maintain good air quality.
