Dues Structure

COMPASS is funded through a combination of local membership dues, federal transportation grants, revenue from special projects for managing contracts, and other revenues, such as map sales. Membership dues typically account for approximately 20% of the overall COMPASS budget.

General member (cities, counties, highway districts) dues are calculated through a Board-approved methodology based on a jurisdiction’s population and other factors.

Special members (state government, educational institutions, etc.) each pay the same flat rate that is equal to 1% of total general membership dues.

Ex officio members do not pay dues.
