2024
- COMPASS Executive Director, Matt Stoll, was recognized by the National Association of Regional Councils (NARC) and was awarded the 2024 President’s Award. This award is a national award that recognizes leadership and excellence in advocating regional concepts, approaches, and programs at any level of the regional community.
- COMPASS earned the Platinum Level for Participation in the 2024 May in Motion competition. May in Motion is a month-long promotion to reward employers for educating their employees about transportation-related issues and encouraging their use of transportation alternatives by providing facility and program support. COMPASS has participated in May in Motion every year since 2009.
- COMPASS’ Executive Director, Matt Stoll, was recognized as a 2024 CEO of Influence by the Idaho Business Review. Stoll was nominated for consistently demonstrating strong leadership, integrity, innovation, and commitment to excellence throughout his career. His visionary leadership style has helped propel not only COMPASS, but the Treasure Valley, to success for over 20 years.
2023
- COMPASS was a finalist for the National Best Social Media Presence – Nextdoor Award during the 2023 Government Social Media Convention. This award category recognizes a government agency that embodies what it means to be a good neighbor by using Nextdoor to show heart, emphasize community and make a positive impact (GSMCON).
- COMPASS earned the Platinum Level for Participation in the 2023 May in Motion competition. May in Motion is a month-long promotion to reward employers for educating their employees about transportation-related issues and encouraging their use of transportation alternatives by providing facility and program support. COMPASS has participated in May in Motion every year since 2009.
2022
- COMPASS earned the Gold Level for Participation in the 2022 May in Motion competition. May in Motion is a month-long promotion to reward employers for educating their employees about transportation-related issues and encouraging their use of transportation alternatives by providing facility and program support. COMPASS has participated in May in Motion every year since 2009.
2021
- COMPASS earned the 2021 Idaho APA Public Outreach Award on October 6, 2021, for its “A lot can change in 30 years” survey series, used to inform the 2050 update to Communities in Motion.
- COMPASS earned the Platinum Level for the Event Based on Participation in the 2021 May in Motion competition. May in Motion is a month-long promotion to reward employers for educating their employees about transportation-related issues, and encouraging their use of transportation alternatives by providing facility and program support. The platinum level is the highest level achievable in the competition.
2019
- COMPASS earned the Idaho APA Gem Award on October 3, 2019 for the “Moneyball for MPOs” method of evaluating transportation projects across a myriad of transportation and “quality of life” metrics. The process is used to help regional leaders make information transportation investment decision.
- COMPASS earned the ESRI’s Special Achievements in GIS Award in 2019 for innovation and setting new precedents in the GIS community.
- COMPASS earned the Platinum Level Alternative Transportation Champion Award for the eleventh year in a row in the 2019 May in Motion competition. May in Motion is a month-long promotion to reward employers for educating their employees about transportation-related issues, and encouraging their use of transportation alternatives by providing facility and program support. The platinum level is the highest level achievable in the competition.
2018
- COMPASS received the 2018 Excellence in Transportation – Planning award from the Idaho Transportation Department on January 17, 2019, for its “Moneyball for MPOs” method of evaluating transportation projects across a myriad of transportation and “quality of life” metrics. The process is used to help regional leaders make information transportation investment decision.
- COMPASS earned the Idaho Smart Growth 2018 Grow Smart award for “Moneyball for MPOs,” a method of evaluating and comparing transportation projects across disparate measures, on November 5, 2018. The project helps decision-makes make informed transportation investments that support many smart growth principles.
- COMPASS earned the Platinum Level Alternative Transportation Champion Award for the tenth year in a row in the 2018 May in Motion competition. May in Motion is a month-long promotion to reward employers for educating their employees about transportation-related issues, and encouraging their use of transportation alternatives by providing facility and program support. The platinum level is the highest level achievable in the competition.
2017
- COMPASS Associate Planner Tom Laws received the American Trails 2017 Outstanding Trail Leader Award for Idaho on May 7, 2017, at the International Trails Symposium in Dayton, Ohio. The Outstanding Trail Leader Award recognizes individuals who have made compelling and significant contributions to trails and pathways in their home state.
